Bathtub Dimensions How Do I Measure A Bathtub For A Remodel?

How do I measure a bathtub for a remodel? - bathtub dimensions

My house was built in '54, is a layer of cod-style house with a small bathroom and I'm in the process of transformation. I would replace the tub / shower with nine tub / shower. I intend to put a new tile tub surround and shower. When I measure my bath size 57x27, dimensions that are very strange, it is possible that there are 3 cm or less hidden behind the plastic tube to see? Is it possible to know with certainty, without damage to the hot showers and in the pan? Would contribute ideas on advice will be appreciated. Thank you!

Bathtubs in various sizes and many old houses odd baths, the tub is the most common 5 '(60 ") x 30". However, there are 4 ', 4,5', 5 ', 5,5' and 6 '. So many shapes and depths. one way you can see how thick the wall is to remove the seat to the tub / shower faucet and measure the thickness. I think it is possible that the surrounding plastic was installed on the old wall tiles and plastic were in 1954, not by what it was redesigned at some point be used.

There is no rule that a bath should be 5 feet, unless of course, he is 5 foot bath, I have installed and removed hundreds of tanks.

It is a 5-foot bathtub. The tub is one of the first things I put in. It is rare to have a few inches behind the wall. The tank has been completed, so that often goes into the finishing bath. It is likely that the measurement of 59 inches. For a new bathtub you need a significant part of the demonstration and the swimming area will be made available until the completion of the project. When it was built in 54, which is intended to be lath and plaster walls that will probably be put to death without trial, is not known with certainty.
It is unlikely that any other size is the size of the baths, are standard.

In general, all tubes are 5 meters long and 60 ".
It is possible that the bath-L has a peak at the edge, behind the plastic is molded and cast surround behind it is actually 1 1 / 2 inch above that appears at each end, was able to add the 3 inch. . Just as you suspected.
The problem will probably notice is that the tub needed time to retire and the system one way or another to fit a standard bath 5th
You may have to remove sheetrock a few blocks to this step, if the tub.
Good luck with your project.
