I have the original Thermarest mattresses at temperatures down to -20 ° C without any problem, because the things that you will use to add the next day, between the pad and sleeping bag to some privacy and to use clothing to keep warm in a sleeping bag defunct manufacturer) of up to -40 ° F (Snowlion Another thing is rated to go the hardware store and a spray called "buy" Super Grip "and sprinkle on both sides of the mattress, it deals with boxes that the pad slipping on the floor of the shop and the bag from sliding to stop them. Enjoy.

You can not beat a good Thermarest. I have 2 of them. They are as good as closed-cell pads are available in different strengths. The good thing about them is bouncy castles in contrast to that they are anti-puncture. Can you cut to desired size without any problems. Some people prefer. The problem is that they are bigger than dinghies. If you tried in a colder zone, sleep in your garden on a cold night and you judge for yourself whether your platform is appropriate. I have something new for me the proof so that you expect to know something about him in the forest.

I slept in me, with single-digit temperatures in the granite and also the state. I use a very thin and sleep directly on the pad with my sleeping bag like a blanket. When more than begin to swell, losing its insulating properties, has never been a problem for me.

About 35 years backpacking experience, more than 1,000 nights in the country.

Now test your Thermarest in the cold is the only way to know whether you are appropriate. I wouldnt go buy one, because someone said she coldly. See for yourself and then out from there. So, if your cold you `ll spend a cold night or two, but at least I` ll know first hand. Perhaps because the man was not sleeping as well as you, perhaps too easily as a cold, cold bed. I do not spend money for a new one.

I've always heard that a Thermarest really a very good insulator. It is 1 "- 1-1/2" of foam insulation. I never slept in the cold summer in a mine, unless my feet dangling in the void. Well, I froze my butt to sleep on an air mattress.

Therma Rest is probably the best choice ... It is important that people forget that most of the coolest air mattress for you --- cooler air to circulate around your body - but it is true that in the coldest conditions for 3 seasons is fine
