The hero is rescued when their car breaks down. They found a man, and I believe it led to a tree house? She climbs into the treetops, to meditate. Some need to think of his meditation, his head from left to right, because he realizes I move (it's the act of cleaning.) I have forgotten who the author is, but I remember vaguely that it was in Carlos Castaneda linked.

The book you are looking for is Sorcerer's Crossing by Taisha Abelar, one of the female sorceres who was taught by Castaneda. The practice is called "The Recapitulation". It is a worthy undertaking once you have read and truly understand what it is that you are doing by practicing it. Good luck on your journey.
